Cyberpunk 2077 Will Be Better Than Witcher 3

Don’t be fooled by its appearances: Cyberpunk 2077 is not a shooter, at least not strictly: it is an RPG first, and an FPS second.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most important releases of the remainder of the year. It is also the successor to The Witcher 3, one of the most influential western role-playing games of recent years.

And that is something we must not forget: that it is an RPG. Unlike Geralt’s adventure, which with its swords, horses, and witchcraft left no doubt about what kind of game it was, Cyberpunk 2077 takes the form of a futuristic first-person game, in which the shootings carry great weight.

However, Cyberpunk 2077 will not be just a shooter. It will be a full-fledged RPG, one even deeper than The Witcher. And the CD Projekt RED team uses any occasion to remember it, assuring fans that they will have an experience that lives up to expectations. After all, Cyberpunk 2077 was born out of a pencil and board RPG created by Mike Pondsmith in 1988, Cyberpunk 2013.

In this interview, Senior Mission Designer Miles Tost reiterates that fans shouldn’t assume Cyberpunk 2077 will be a simple shooter just because of the images and videos they can see. The creation of your character, the choice and customization of skills, and the dialogues will be key parts of the gameplay, as much or more than the shootouts and brutal executions.

The video game will make its interpretation of three of the original classes: Solo, Netrunner, and Techie. This choice of class, or “life path”, as explained in the last Night City Wire presentation, will change the prologue of the game, the origin and experience of the character, and therefore part of his abilities. Thus, it will have exclusive dialogue branches that will allow you to solve situations in different ways, and change the development of the story.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on November 19 for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia, and later on PS5 and Xbox Series X. If you want more information, do not miss the latest presentation of the game, where these classes were seen in more detail, in addition to the weapons of the game, which demonstrate that in addition to action, the game will be enormously deep and customizable.
