When PS5 launches, if all goes according to plan, later this year, it will do so with one of the most popular superheroes of all time: Spider-Man.
Under the mask will not be Peter Parker, the protagonist of the great success of 2018 for PS4, but Miles Morales, the young African American who has already become the reference spiderman for a whole generation.
Introduced in the comics in 2011, Morales has already starred in a movie, Spider-Man: A New Universe, and will now star in a video game, which will also be the gateway for many to Sony’s next-generation console.
Revealed in a short teaser at the June event, it won’t be exactly a sequel, but rather a shorter spin-off in the style of Uncharted The Lost Legacy, but it will be a very exciting and amazing story that will complete Miles’s story arc which was a supporting character in the previous game.
In new detail and information about the story have been revealed. We still don’t know who will be the villain or villains in the game, but now we know that it will feature a war between an energy company and a criminal organization armed to the teeth, which will turn the district of Harlem, where Miles lives, upside down. All this, in winter, with a snowy New York that should leave spectacular prints
According to Brian Intihar, Creative Director at Insomniac, he will have a lot of heart. Brian Horton, creative director, and producer of the superhit game goes into more detail and information.
When we started to shape the story, we realized that with a more compact storytelling style, and design we could tell a very emotionally shocking story that would fit very well after Spider-Man 1 and I would do the cast justice. ”
They drop that Parker will go down in history, as Morales’s mentor, coach, and friend, something that was already seen in the previous game. Of course, it will be another Spider-Man, and therefore all his movements and powers including invisibility and shock waves will be different from Parker’s.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales is due out in late 2020 and will be exclusive to PS5. Additionally, on September 4, Marvel’s Avengers will be released, another Marvel blockbuster, this time multiplatform, but which will not be narratively connected with the Insomniac game, and next year they will present their own version of the wall-crawler.
